DECISION IN THE DERIUGUINA CASE

FIG Office, July 3, 2008: --- The FIG Appeal Tribunals reduces the sanctions against Ms Irina DERIUGINA by four years.

The FIG Presidential Commission – at its meeting in Cape Town, 21st April 2008 - has sanctioned Ms Irina Deriugina (UKR), Member of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee as follows:

Mrs Irina Viner is sanctioned with a warning

Lausanne (SUI) FIG Office, -- A disciplinary procedure was opened on April 20, 2008 against Mrs Irina VINER (RUS), member of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee in view of statements which were published in the media after the 2007 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Patras (GRE).

The statements in question could notably damage the image of gymnastics and affect the dignity of judges and affiliated federations.
As such, this could be an infringement of art....

24th EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS, RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

The host city of the last Olympic Winter Games, the Northern Italian city of TORINO welcomes the best elite and junior gymnasts to the 24th Europeam Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
From Thursday, June 5 on the 20 best gymnasts are fighting for the all-around champion as a special test two month before the Olympic decision and also the best elite groups are fighting for the Medals.

Case F.I.G. vs Irina Deriugina

APPEAL AND SUSPENSION REQUESTED
FIG press release:  - On April 21st, the FIG Presidential Commission made a decision concerning the case F.I.G. vs Irina Deriuguina (UKR)and decided to suspend Ms. Deriugina from her function as a member of the RG Technical Committee
and any other official function within the FIG immediately and until the end of the current cycle and from any future official function within the FIG until the end of the cycle 2013-2016.  ...

Suspension of Irina DERIUGINA as FIG TC Member

The FIG Head Office in Moutier (Switzerland) just informed about a sanction which had to be taken against Irina DERIUGINA (UKR), member of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee.
The Presidential Commission has unanimously decided to suspend her from her function as a member of the RG TC and any other official function within the FIG immediately ...
