Three European Capitals as Candidates
After the realization of the 1997 worlds, the German capital  Berlin - together with the German Gymnastics Federation DTB - applied to host the 2011 World Championships of Rhythmic Gymnastics for the second time.
The Russian metropolis  Moscow and Paris have the same intention..... the deadline for this is the end of April this year.
At the meeting of the F.I.G. council in Orlando, May 18-19 the FIG will assign these very important  Pre-Olympic worlds, one year before...

2. Grand Prix  in Thiais/FRA
At the second Grand Prix tournament of Rhythmic gymnastics the Russian European champion Vera Sessina won the all-around qualification in Thiais, France and on Sunda also the hoop final
On second place came vice-world champion Anna Bessonova from Ukraine, winning the ribbon final and Olympic Champion Alina Kabaeva was the final best with rope and clubs
World champion Kapranova ranked on fourth place in all around, only...

RG: Grand Prix Tournament in Thiais/FRA
In the second of the ten Grand Prix Tournaments of 2007 European champion Vera Sessina (Russia) won allround  in Thiais (France), scoring a total of 70,852 points and was the best at the Sunday's hoop final.

The vice world champion Anna Bessonowa (Ukraine/ 70,439), who won the World Cup last weekend came second and won the ribbon final, and the allaround third placed Olympic champion Alina Kabajewa (Russia/69,877) won the rope and the clubs final.

First World Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics
Also after the second day (Saturday) of the "International Derjugina Cup", which is a FIG world cup event, the Ukrainian Anna BESSONOVA leads after the all-around qualification. Specially her hoop exercise was a highlight of the first day. This apparatus is back after a break of two years as an offical discipline again.

All-around and two final events by Johanna Gabor
The 18th "GYMNASTIK INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT 2007" was held at the German top center of rhythmic gymnastics in Schmiden near Stuttgart .
Surprisingly, the German champion Johanna Gabor won the all-around (62,814) against the Russian Karolina Tkalina (61,381) and also two finals (hoop and clubs).
Germany's Olympian Lisa Ingildeeva came in fourth place, was third with clubs but didn't get a nomination for the coming world cup next weekend in Kiev...
