The Russians presented themselves sovereignly with 5 ribbons (25.200) and 2 balls/ 3 hoops (25.275) but the decision with balls/ hoops, where 2nd placed Bulgaria scored 25.200, has been very tight. Favourites of the audience were once again the Italians with their spectacular choreographies.

Despite of mistakes during the 2nd competition day the team with the gymnasts Alina Kabaeva, Irina Tchachina, Olga Kapranova and Vera Sessina won with the score of 255.600 in front of Ukraine (246.350) and Belarus (240.875). Anna Bessonova (UKR) is the first winner at the 26th World Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics (groups and individual gymnasts) in Budapest. She clearly won the final with the hoop in front of the 2 Russians Alina Kabaeva and Irina Tchachina. The final with ball has been won by Alina Kabaeva in front of Bessonova and Inna Shukova (BLR).
