Madeira Tournament: Russian Maryna Shpehkt with total triumph .... Belarus and Spain dominate group competitions

At the second day of the 11th INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT MADEIRA 2006 the Russian Maryna Shpehkt wins with two top exercises with clubs and ribbon. Leading after the first day's rotations she beats Liubov Charkashyna from Belarus, followed by the Spanish star Almudena Cid Tostado (ESP) . The Spanish 'Lady of Gymnastics' gets the special price with a 100% voting of all journalists. This 'Prix d'elegance was sponsored by the company d'villena

Russian Dominance at 17th Schmiden INTERNATIONAL GYM family Event 2006

All together nine from ten reachable successes went to the Russian gymnasts at the '17th Schmiden INTERNATIONAL TOUNAMENT' which was held this weekened in the German top center of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Schmiden, near Stuttgart.
The all-around winner Evgenia KANAEVA won also all the four finals at Sunda and her younger teammate Natalia PICHUZHKINA did nearly the same, but only the German Karolina RASKINA from Schmiden won the juniors final with the ribbon at the end of these two...

Malaysian Gymnast HUI Yee calls it quits...

Malaysian press reported, that the national top rhythmic gymnast See Hui Yee, one of the most successful athletes at the Manila SEA Games in December 2005, has quit the national team after six years of service.
Despite her two-gold medal feat in Manila, Hui Yee was left out of the Commonwealth Games after an unscheduled selection trial.

PREVIEW: 11th International Tournament Madeira 2006 GYM family Event 2006

After one decade only the International Madeira Tournament', which will held coming weekend on the Portuguese island Madeira - is established in the worldwide gymnastics calendar.

Kabaeva is back! She won three of five Grand Prix Finals

Olympic Champion Alina Kabaeva (RUS) is back on the stage of the world best rhythmic gymnasts! Yesterday, she won the all around competition of the first Grand Prix Tournament of 2006 series in Moscow with 67,125 points in front of her teammates Vera Sesina (66,950) and Olga Kapranova (66,725).
