* fig-news --: The drawing of lots for April's Aquece Rio Test Event, the final opportunity for gymnasts to qualify to compete at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games, was held Wednesday at FIG Headquarters in Lausanne (SUI).
The draw determines the rotation order for each country in the competition, which can play a big role in the strategy of gymnasts.

The Russian capital Moscow hosted the first "Grand Prix Tournament of Rhythmic Gymnastics" in the Olympic year 2016.

The international Tournament "Miss Valentine 2016" was an IFAGG European Championships in aesthetic group gymnastics but also a FIG international rhythmic gymnastics tournament. The competition took place from 11-14 February in Tartu, Estonia.

2015 was a very successful year for the national Azerbaijanian Gymnastics, as the country gained 157 medals during last year.
Rhythmic gymnasts could distinguish among the athletes, winning 81 medals overall.
