Russia’s outgoing President Vladmir PUTIN has decided to tie the knot with a famous rhythmic gymnast Alina KABAEVA, known for her extreme natural flexibility. The wedding is expected to take place in one of the famous wedding places in St. Petersburg on mid-June. Svetelina STOJANOVA (BUL) won the Junior All-around competition of the 2nd Rhythmic Gymnastics International at Fenton Manor Sport Complex in Stoke on Trent (Great Britain), 92,592 - followed by also the Bulgarian Gabriela ZROVA (92,158) and Belgium, Lieselotte DIELS (90,192).

<< Alexandra ORLANDO of Toronto (CAN) won the gold medal at the 2008 Pacific Rim Championships on Saturday in the women’s senior all-around competition in rhythmic gymnastics , which was held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif./USA.

On Sunday Alexandra Orlando won three of the four apparatus final events and so the Canadian was the most succesful gymnast at these rhythmic events.

On Easter Sunday, final day of the  "2008 DERYUGINA CUP", the first world cup of the Olympic season, was a total triumph for the reigning all-around champion Anna BESSONOVA - second placed in the all-around qualification, with a difference of one tenth only: The "Favorite of the Hearts' won all the four final decisions.
