2024 European ‘Gymnasts of the Year’ have been crowned!

Following a survey of its member federations, experts and fans, the continental Gymnastics Federation "EUROPEAN GYMNASTICS" has identified the best athletes as ‘European Gymnasts"  of the 2024 Olympic Year ...:

♦ In the category ‘Male Gymnast of the Year’, the trailblazing Cypriot, 2024 European All-Around Champion Marios Georgiou triumphed with a total of 26,260 votes:
1. Marios Georgiou (CYP)     – Artistic   - 26,260 (50.6%)
2. Harry Hepworth (GBR)        – Artistic    - 18,877  (36.4%)
3. Magnus Lindholmer (DEN)  – Tumbling - 3,233  ( 6.2%)
5. Rhys McClenaghan (IRL)   – Artistic      -  3,055  ( 5.9%)
4. Ivan Litvinovich (AIN)         - Tramp            - 429  ( 0.8%)

♦ In the category ‘Female Gymnast of the Year’, European silver medallist and Olympic vault finalist Valentina Georgieva (BUL) won with 92,767 votes:
1. Valentina Georgieva (BUL) – Artistic   - 92,767 (53.5%)
2. Filipa Martins (POR)              – Artistic     - 68,306 (39.4%)
3. Alice D’Amato (ITA)               – Artistic      -   5,072 (2 .9%)
4. Bryony Page (GBR)               – Trampoline - 4,026 (2.3%)
5. Darja Varfolomeev (GER)      – Rhythmic    - 3,175 (1.8%)

♦♦ In the category ‘Team of the Year’,
1. Den nmark’s sensational senior men’s team in TeamGym won with 12,562 (40,2%)
2. Italy – Women’s Artistic                                           - 9,222 (29.5%)
3. France – Trampoline                                               - 5,103 (16.3%)
4. Iceland - Women's TeamGym                                 - 3,419 (10.9%)
2. Silke Macharis & Maysae Bouhouch (BEL) – Acro -    954 ( 3.1%)

♦♦  In the category ‘Outstanding Performance’, Gimnofrielas Top Acro Gym (POR) claimed the victory with 128,280 votes:
1. Top Acro Gym (POR)     – Gymnastics for All   - 128,280 (46.5%)
2. Rui Cansado (POR)        – Aerobic Gymnastics    - 118,911 (43.1%)
3. France                             – Rhythmic Gymnastics  - 22,762    (8.2%)
4. Julia Weissenhofer (LIE) – AGw                                 - 4,301 (1.6%)
5. Veterans (NOR)               – Gymnastics for All           - 1,730 (0.6%)

And last but certainly not least … :
♦ ‘Coach of the Year’ is Laurent Guelzec (SUI) who continues to elevate the Swiss men’s artistic team to new heights, with 18,213 votes:
1. Laurent Guelzec (SUI) – AGm                   - 18,213 (79.8%)
2. Pablo Hinojar (ESP) – DMT & Tumb& Acro - 2,109   (9.2%)
3. Enrico Casella       (ITA) – AGw                   - 1,701    (7.5%)
4. Iryna Gorbacheva (UKR) – AGm                 -   634    (2.8%)
5. Volha Ulasava      (AIN) – Tramp                 -   167     (0.7%)

** The winner will receive a € 2,000 cheque per category, a certificate, a trophy,
