1st FIG World Cup 2025: 48th Cottbus Tournament

With the 48th International Tournament of Masters 2025 from February 20 - 23 in the Lausitz Arena in Cottbus / Germany, the F.I.G. is opening its international World Cup series in the post-Olympic year. Instead of the previous four, this year's series includes a total of six tournaments in Baku (AZE; 6-9 May), in Cairo (EGY) and Doha (QAT) as well as in Antalya (TUR) and Osijek (CRO). After the two qualification days in Cottbus, the World Cup winners will be determined in the apparatus finals at the weekend (Saturday/Sunday):
* On the first day of the finals, the men's victories went to Milad Karimi (KAZ; floor), Shiao, Yu-Jan (TPE; horse) and Vahagn Davtyan (ARM; rings). The women's event was won by Teja Belak (SLO; vault) and Zhang, Kexing (CHN; uneven bars).
* On the last day in Cottbus, two more Chinese women, ZHOU, Yaqin (beam) and ZHANG, Yihan (floor), emphasised their dominance as one of the leading gymnastics nations. Asians were also ahead in the men's parallel bars and high bar: Kaito SUGIMOTO and Shohei KAWAKAMI won. Success on the vault went to the Olympic silver medallist from Armenia, Artur DAVTYAN ...:

F I N A L  E V E N T S
The 49 years old Usbekian Oksana CHUSOVITINA participated to the 23rd time here in Cottbus: 1989 to the first time and she won here in Cottbus 15 x gold medals.
In this year - at the age of 49 years (!) - she won bronze on vault table  :

Oksana explained that she wants to prepare for her ninth Olympic participation in Los Angeles in 2028.
She would then be 53 years old!
