♦ An English trio underlined their team superiority
in the individual all-around:
Tiegan TRAFFORD from Team England I won with 47.750 points ahead of her team-mate Eman Grace Kandalova (46.000) and Daisy Wise (45.75) from Team England II. Just 0.1 points behind her was Daniela Halova from Litvinov (CZE) in fourth place, while the gap to the best German gymnast, Lucia Brake from Berlin, in 10th place was already -1.25 points.
This traditional competition with an almost 50-year tradition (!) once again offered an excellent opportunity for young talents to gain important competition experience in front of over 1,300 spectators at its 47th edition, especially at the start of a new Olympic cycle!
Thanks are therefore due to the Leverkusen organisers led by Dieter Schulz, his son Heiko Schulz and the entire TC 72 Leverkusen organisation team, because this half-century-long tradition alone, with the ever-increasing quality of the events, has a historic and valuable dimension! Chapeau!
!! Teams from the Netherlands (40 participations), who last won the team competition in 2023, and from England (41 participations), who have now won the coveted Leverkusen Cup 2024 for the third time after 2012 and 2022, have participated for almost the same number of years.
Now already on the way to the 50th anniversary in two years' time, we will meet again in the autumn of the World Cup and Gymnastics Festival year - then for the 48th International Leverkusen Cup in 2025.
