Team SV Halle - first victory in Hanover! |
The young gymnasts from SV H a l le - the club of the German world champion on parallel bars, Lukas Dauser - won the 10th anniversary tournament of the International ZAG Junior Team Cup 2024 in Hanover / Vinnhorst for the first time.
With 212.250 points, coach Michael Krüger's protégés relegated the ‘Excel Gymnastics’ team from Ireland (210.900) to second place, with the boys from the KNGU team of the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Union (KNGU) in third place, just -0.3 points behind. The gap to the junior team from Israel, which came fourth, was even smaller (only -0.2). Twelve junior teams from 5 European countries, made up of gymnasts aged between 12 and 16, took part.

♦♦ INDIVIDUAL ALL-AROUND
♦ Halle's Joshua TANDEL won the all-around competition in the 15/16 age group with 71.650 points ahead of Dutchman Frederik Davies-Vaneetvelde (69.550) and the best Israeli Ilay Cohen (69.450).
♦ In the 13/14 age group, Matvey FOKIN also delivered a strong winning performance with 70.950 and relegated Even Kinsella from the Irish club ‘Excel Gymnastics’ to second place (70.750), with Dani Scheper (KNGU, Netherlands) in third place with 70.650 points and Josef Jaffer (SV Halle) just -0.05 points behind forming a strong leading quartet. Any of the four boys could have won here, and even Raphael Wolfinger (KTV Straubenhardt) in fifth place was still close with 69.950 points!!!
♦ Most of the youngest gymnasts in age group 12 were competing in their very first international competition!
Danthè WORTHINGTON (KNGU / NED), who won with 67.450 points, was at his best. Gabriel Petcu (TuS Vinhorst / GER) followed him with bravura in front of his home crowd and, with the strongest horse performance, pushed Erik Böhm (SV Halle; 66.100) into third place with 64.950 in the end.

♦ Den Mehrkampf in der Altersklasse AK 15/16 gewann Halles Joshua TANDEL mit 71,650 Punkten vor dem Holländer Frederik Davies-Vaneetvelde (69,550) und dem besten Israeli Ilay Cohen (69,450).
♦ In der AK 13/14 lieferte auch Matvey FOKIN mit 70,950 eine starke Siegerleistung ab und verwies Even Kinsella vom irischen Club "Excel Gymnastics" auf Rang 2 (70750), wobei hier auch der Dritte, Dani Scheper (KNGU, Niederlande) mit 70,650 Punkten, wie aber auch Josef Jaffer (SV Halle) mit nur -0,05 Punkten dahinter ein starkes Führungsquartett bildeten. Jeder der vier Jungen hätte hier auch gewinnen können, und auch Raphael Wolfinger (KTV Straubenhardt) als Fünfter war mit 69,950 Punkten noch dicht dran!!
♦ Die meisten der Jüngsten in der AK 12 absolvierten ihren allerersten internationalen Wettkampf!
Danthè WORTHINGTON (KNGU / NED), der mit 67,450 Punkten gewann, war dabei am besten drauf. Mit Bravour folgte ihm vor heimischem Publikum Gabriel Petcu (TuS Vinhorst / GER) und verdrängte mit der stärksten Pferdleisung am Ende mit 64,950 Erik Böhm (SV Halle; 66,100) auf den dritten Rang.

♦ Apparatus Finals (Age groups)
In the final apparatus finals, there was one particularly outstanding athlete in each age group:
* In the age group 15/16 it was Joshua TANDEL, (photo right >) who won four apparatus finals:
Floor exercise, still rings, vault and parallel bars! He came second on the pommel horse, where he was beaten by Dutchman Frederick DAVIES-VANDEENVELDE from the KNGU team. Ilay COHEN from Israel took victory on the high bar.

* * There was a double winner in the 13/14 age group:
Dani SCHEPER (KNGU / NED) won on vault and dominated on high bar.
A boy with a world-famous name won on floor: Marius URZICA jun. from Romania, whose father of the same name was once the multi-crowned king of the pommel horse.But it was precisely on this apparatus that his Flius was narrowly beaten this time by James ZINZEN from the Club SC Berlin.
Jonas KIRSCH from Altonaer TSV (GER) was the strongest gymnast on rings, and Raphael WOLFINGER from KTV Straubenhardt / GER was unbeatable on parallel bars.

* In the age group 12, three apparatus were dominated by Dutchman Dantè WORTHINGTON (KNGU):
Dantè won rings, vault and parallel bars!
Another two victories went to the representative of the winning team SV Halle/GER:
Lennox ALTENBERGER won on floor and high bar.
Jan Felix HERMANN from TSV Buchholz/GER dominated his freestyle on the pommels.
