Four historical Gym Legends as new members of the International Gymnastics 'Hall of Fame'

Julianne McNamara and Carly Patterson Caldwell of the United States, Rustam Sharipov of Ukraine and Josef Stalder* of Switzerland were officially inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame (IGHOF) last weekend evening in Oklahoma City. At the 27th annual IGHOF induction black-tie gala held at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma, the class of 2024 was officially recognized as the latest entries to the IGHOF, where over the past 26 years, 136 of the greatest gymnastics stars and contributors representing 22 countries have been honored. Saturday’s attendees included 150 guests, former inductees, industry leaders and gymnastics associates.
)* - Stalder, the 1948 Olympic gold medalist on horizontal bar and winner of seven Olympic medals total at the 1948 and 1952 Games, was honored posthumously. The name Stalder is still widely recognized in gymnastics round the world, as “the Stalder” remains a common gymnastics element performed by men and women more than 70 years after he introduced it.
