FIG: Jakarta to host 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships

"I met with Mr Dito Ariotedjo, the Minister of Sport and Youth, and Mr Raja Sapta Oktohari, the President of the Indonesia Olympic Committee, in Indonesia last year during the Brick Parkour Asian Tour," commented FIG President Morinari Watanabe.
"The Indonesia Gymnastics Federation under the leadership of its president Mrs Ita Yuliati already demonstrated their professionalism in organising a stop on this new international Parkour event. I am delighted that our discussions last year led to the national federation submitting a bid for our flagship event, the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, which has now been approved by the FIG Executive Committee. I am convinced that the event will be organised to a high standard".

The President of the Indonesia Gymnastics Federation ("Persani"), Mrs Ita Yuliati, welcomed the news. "We are incredibly honoured to host the 53^rd FIG Artistic World Gymnastics Championships," she said.
