Andreas Toba (GER) - injured! |
After the painful injury losses of the German women's gymnasts by Elisabeth Seitz (from Stuttgart) and Emma Malewski (Chemnitz), another World Championships competitor on men's site, Andreas Toba (from Hanover) is now out: The 32-year-old gymnast - son of the German Olympian with Romanian roots, Marius Toba - suffered a knee injury during acrobatics training on the floor at the World Championships venue on the Antwerp podium in the Sportpaleis. On the advice of the German team doctor, Dr. Hans-Peter Boschert, he is advised not to compete. This means that the German men's team is missing one of the most experienced all-arounders in the fight for the Olympic ticket. This means that replacement gymnast Nick Klessing will be in the German team, protégé of coach Hubert Brylok, who also trained Lukas Dauser and Nils Dunkel at the GYMcenter of SV Halle.
