As the Armenian Gymnastics Federation informed through its Chairman, Gagik VANOYAN, one of the greatest world gymnastics legends of the previous century, Albert Vagarshakovich AZARYAN passed away on September 5, 2023 at the age of 94. The three-time Olympic champion, four-time world champion and two-time European champion in Soviet times in the fifties and sixties of the last century, left lasting memories and significant traces not only in the history of sports, but also in the history of the Armenian people.
Albert Azaryan won the gold medals on the rings at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 and in Rome in 1960.
