More than 50 rhythmic athletes punched their tickets to the 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships’ elite competition at last weekend’s 2023 Elite Qualifier in Indianapolis. Newly minted senior Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s school) led in all-around competition at the qualifier with a combined 125.900. Alexandria Kautzman (Simi Valley, Calif./California Rhythms) scored a 124.950 to take second just ahead of Yana Golovan (Las Vegas, Nev./Nevada Rhythmic Academy), who was third with a 124.900. In apparatus competition, Chin had the highest score on ball (33.100) and ribbon (31.350) while Kautzman topped the hoop (33.100) and clubs (33.750) standings.
