Hart, Whittaker-Smith; |
British Gymnastics have announced the appointment of David HART as their new Performance Director (Strategy and Culture) up until the end of 2024, completing the new leadership set up of British Gymnastics’ Performance team as part of their wider reform plans to put gymnasts at the heart of everything they do.
Hart will work closely with leading coach Tracy WHITTAKER MBE, who was announced as British Gymnastics’ new Performance Director of Olympic Disciplines earlier this month. Both Performance Directors will be jointly accountable for the overall delivery and outcomes of British Gymnastics’ World Class Programme strategy in the build up to and at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Hart, who will officially start in his role on 3 October, will lead on two of four strategic priorities of British Gymnastics’ Performance programme that require focus, including cultural change - to develop, embed and drive an athlete centred, world class culture at all levels - and athlete welfare, ensuring the experience is a positive one for all. With 18 years’ experience working in sport, Hart joins British Gymnastics from the English Institute of Sport (EIS) having held several roles there over the past five years. Most recently he has worked as EIS’ Head of Performance Support for British Gymnastics, working closely with the organisation during that time.
