British Gymnastics: Danusia Francis named Non-Executive Athlete Representative

* BG-Info --:  Danusia FRANCIS joins the British Gymnastics Board to ensure the athlete’s voice is present in decision making. British Gymnastics Board announced that former British gymnast, Danusia Francis, has been named as the Non-Executive Athlete Representative on the British Gymnastics Board.This new role on the Board has been created to ensure the athlete’s voice is present in all decision making at British Gymnastics. Danusia will provide insight and specialist knowledge from a gymnasts’ perspective with first-hand experience in the gymnast journey adding diverse thinking to the board.
With a wealth of experience in the sport, Danusia has competed internationally for Britain before most recently representing Jamaica at the 2020 Olympic Games. Through her time on British squads, which saw her named as the reserve for the women’s artistic team at the 2012 London Games, she has worked across the performance pathway with first-hand experience on what a gymnasts’ journey is like.
Danusia will start in her role on 1^st September 2022 but will be in attendance at the June Board meeting as an observer. Alongside the Non-Executive Athlete Representative, the newly formed Gymnast Advisory Group will provide further insight and input from a gymnast’s perspective into the organisation and decision making, more details of this will be announced soon.
