Canada's two-time Olympic champion elected athletes spokesperson

2012 and 2016 Olympic champion Rosannagh MacLennan (CAN) has been elected as the FIG Athletes’ Commission representative for Trampoline Gymnastics through 2025. MacLennan, 33, obtained 20 votes from her athlete peers in an election held the day before the 35th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships open in Baku (AZE). Four-time Olympic medallist Dong Dong (CHN), the only other candidate, received 11.
MacLennan’s term runs from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2025. She succeeds Nuno Merino (POR). As athletes’ representative, she will sit on the FIG Athletes’ Commission and take part in the discipline’s Technical Committee meetings.
