Pesaro’s Vitrifrigo Arena hosts the 12th European Championships in AEROBIC Gymnastics this weekend.
Yesterday and today the qualification rounds were held. The best results in all categories combined determined the team European Champions! The host nation Italy excelled on both days, topping the Group qualifications, ranking second in Individual Men, Mixed Pairs and Trios and tying for third in Aero Dance.
Romania clinched the silver thanks to second place in Individual Women and Groups, third in Trios and Aero Dance while Hungary counted top qualifier in Individual Men, David Bali, in their ranks for the bronze medal.
The Aero Dance team of Russia advance to that final in first place. Not competing for a team ranking, Bulgaria delivered the top qualifiers three senior categories: Darina Pashova topped the individual women, Ana-Maria Stoilova and Antonio Papazov were the best mixed pair and reigning World Champions Darina Pashova, Antonio Papazov and Tihomir Barotev lead in trio.
The gymnasts representing Russia won the junior Team title, ahead of Romania and Hungary. Great Britain’s Lola Lawrence topped the Individual Women qualifications while Italy’s Andrea Colnago was the best Man. Bulgaria delivered the top Mixed Pair, Russia the best Trio and Romania excelled in Group and Aero Dance.
