Krisztofer Meszàros (HUN) |
On the last weekend in March, the national Hungarian men's gymnastics championships took place in the capital of Budapest.
Krisztofer MESZÀROS - a 19-year-old gymnast from Györ, who was part of the 2020 bronze ECh team in Mersin/TUR and was 6th there in the floor final - was the new national all-around champion with five best equipment performances (except for high bar) and a total of 80,550 points - ahead of his club-mate Bolond MOLNAR (77,850) and before Szilàrd ZÀVORY (76,700; KSI SE). Of the total of 22 starters, only 16 gymnasts competed in a full all-around competition.
At the apparatus finals, an obvious crisis in the Hungarian men's gymnastics was revealed on the final day, far from the bronze ECh team success in the "corona autumn" 2020: Only the pommel horse was fully occupied with 6 qualifiers; none of the best in all-round competitions found themselves in a device final or even competed there .....
