FIG: Revised version of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualification System

* FIG-Info --: The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has released today the revised version of the Qualification System – Games of the XXXII Olympiad – Tokyo 2020 for the Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics events that includes a few adjustments enabling the qualification process to conclude on time.While the main principles remain the same, a few modifications to the rules were necessary to clarify how the remaining quota places will be earned or reallocated should qualifying competitions not take place by 29 June 2021 - the official deadline set by the IOC.

All these amendments have been approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). A large majority of the 324 Olympic berths in Gymnastics have already been allocated. Only a limited number of places are still at stake through World Cup series or continental championships that have been postponed from 2020 to 2021.
Until now, the All-Around World Cups series in Artistic Gymnastics is the only qualifying pathway (criteria 6) that had to be cancelled due to the travel difficulties and restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
