European Championships 2022 in Munich

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Summer Olympics, the Munich Olympic Park is to experience the 2022 European Championships as a multiple sports event like Glasgow 2018. A total of nine sports will host their continental championships: athletics, artistic gymnastics, rowing, cycling and triathlon are set, as well as climbing, canoe racing, table tennis and beach volleyball. In total, this will be the largest sports party that the Olympic Park in the Bavarian metropolis will experience since it opened half a century ago.
4,400 athletes will fight for medals in 158 decisions. Artistic gymnastics for men and women will be about 12 European titles. Munich will host a gymnastics championship in history for the first time for the expected 311 participants from 50 nations ...:

* * Memories are awakening from the first complex implementation of European Championships in Glasgow & Berlin in 2018, which were spread enormously in a package with other sports as a multi-sport event and through the above-average attention and media coverage.

* The unforgettable Olympic gymnastics highlights of course include the Olympic decisions in 1972 in the Olympic Hall with the German (GDR) Olympic victories by Karin Janz and Klaus Köste, the "Sparrow of Grodno", Olga Korbut - the four-time Olympic champion, who celebrated just now her 65th birthday in mid-May 2020 in Arizona - and her legendary  golden Soviet team ...!
