One of the most ardent representatives of national and international gymnastics, the Slovakian gymnastics professor Anton Gajdoš, is celebrating his 80th birthday in his hometown Bratislava today.
Born in 1940 in Dubrinica, Ukraine, he studied sports and the Slovak language at the college of education in his hometown until 1961. As a gymnast he became national champion in 1960. Later he earned great merits as an associate professor at the Institute for Theory and Didactics of Gymnastics at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the "Comenius University" in Bratislava ...
Not only as a family, thanks to his 4 year older brother Pavel GAJDOS, who successfully represented Czechoslovakia at the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championship, but also during his active life, he remained closely connected to his sport:
As a coach, he trained some excellent Slovak gymnasts. In the 1970's he also made a name for himself as an international judge.
As a philosopher and recognized methodologist and publicist of gymnastics, he worked out plans for basic artistic gymnastics training and acted as a visiting professor at universities and educational institutions abroad and is one of the the world-famous author of numerous publications of modern gymnastics.
Anton Gajdos is very communicative, maintains the legacy of his sport and maintains intensive partnerships with gymnastics friends all over the world.
