30th UNIVERSIADE 2019 with strong Japanese Presence

The world sports games of the students have been held since 1959. This year's Universiade in Naples (Italy) is the 30^th edition. It is attended by around 6,000 athletes from 118 different countries. After the opening ceremony on Wednesday (3 July), the gymnastics competitions have started.
Dominant performances were carried out by teams from the current Olympic host in 2020: JAPAN won both, the men's team competition in front of Chinese Taipei and Russia and is leading the all-round qualification with three athletes: One of them, Kazuma KAYA won the all-around gold with  87.000 in front of Russia's Ivan STRETOVICH (84,375) and LEE, Chih-Kai from Chinese Taipei (83,950).
The all-around best in qualification on women's side, Hitomi HATAKEDA (JPN) is also the new Japanese Student World champion now (53,925) in front of the two Russians Uliana PEREBINOSOVA on silver and Lilia AKHAIMOVA on bronze place  (- each 52.700).
The Univeriade competitions in Rhythmic gymnastics in Naples takes place from July 08 - 10 ...
In 2021, the next summer Universiade will take place in Chengdu, China.
