* UEG report --: Number 1 and 2 after qualifications, reigning World Champion Artur Dalaloyan and his teammate Nikita Nagornyy went head-to-head in this afternoon’s all-around final in Szczecin’s Netto Arena. Both showed great consistency on all apparatus. Dalaloyan took the lead early on, after posting a 14.800 on floor while Nagornyy who opened with a high triple back, scored slightly less. With a better routine on pommel horse, Nagornyy surpassed Dalaloyan, establishing a lead of just over 1 point going into the final rotation. High bar has been the nemesis for both Russians quite often at previous events. Today, that was definitely not the case. Under pressure, Nagornyy hit an excellent routine for 14.533, the second highest score of the day on this apparatus. Dalaloyan, who qualified in first place to the high bar final, scored 2 tenths better, settling for silver. The first all-around title for Nikita Nagornyy is in the pocket!
The battle for bronze went on between British gymnasts Joe Fraser and James Hall, Turkey’s Ahmet Onder and Cypriot Marios Georgiou. Gymnastics fans worldwide have recognised the talent of Georgiou for years now and he impressed today. Highlighted by a superb parallel bars set that earned him a score of 14.733, the 21-year-old from Limassol put it in a solid performance for a total score of 84.398 overtaking Fraser by the tiniest of margins. The first ever European medal for Cyprus is a fact!

*ueg-quick report --: Szczecin’s Netto Arena welcomed over 150 gymnasts trying to qualify for the individual all-around final on Friday and the event finals on the weekend.
2018 truly was the break-out year for Russia’s Artur Dalaloyan, winning three European titles and becoming the first Russian to win the all-around World title in 19 years, and he continued showing great form and difficulty in the qualification round on the opening day of the 2019 Artistic Europeans. Going head-to-head with teammate Nikita Nagornyy, Dalaloyan made the gap in the last rotation on high bar to lead the all-around standing. ♦ WOMEN's ALL-AROUND FINAL (* > Start list
* UEG report --: In a thrilling final where the very last routine decided the order of the medals, Melanie DE JESUS DOS SANTOS became only the second French woman to win the European all-around title, after Marine Debauve’s victory in 2005.
De Jesus dos Santos performed strongly on all four events with her a score of 13.600 on floor sealing the deal for her. But just! You could feel the tension in Szczecin’s Netto Arena as the score was flashed on the big cube: just 0.068 separated first from second place. With tears of joy in her eyes, De Jesus dos Santos said: “At first it was mentally tough as I didn't have a very good start on vault. Later, on beam, I performed very well and I realised something could happen. I told myself to grab any tenth possible by going strong and clean aiming for the medal. I was both nervous and relaxed. Hearing my teammates cheer for me helped me a lot. This gold medal represents all the work done in training.”
Keen to defend her 2017 European all-around crown, Great Britain’s Ellie DOWNIE was all smiles during the competition and visibly relieved to finish her beam routine with a great dismount. A strong performance on floor put her at the top of the leader board.
Top qualifier Angelina MELNIKOVA (RUS) started strong on vault and bars but lost valuable points on beam. Last up on floor, her routine didn’t score high enough to overtake the two leaders. Italy’s talented juniors now turned seniors Alice D’Amato and Giorgia Villa finished fourth and sixth respectively while Ukraine’s Anastasia Bachynska and Diana Varinska both made the top 8, in fifth and seventh place. More pride for France as Lorette Charpy finished eighth.

♦ WOMEN's App. Finals:
* UEG report --: An exciting Sunday afternoon in Szczecin (POL) as the finalists battled for medals on beam and floor for the women, and vault, parallel bars and high bar for the men. In the women’s competition, Great Britain’s Alice Kinsella became the first British gymnast to win the European title on beam, her favourite event: "It's been a rollercoaster for me. My all-around competition didn't go to plan but I knew I had today to put that right. I was so nervous watching the rest of the girls compete and to come away with our first ever European beam medal feels absolutely amazing."
France continued their success, with both Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and Lorette Charpy medalling on beam. De Jesus went on to successfully defend her European title on floor too, becoming the most decorated gymnast of these European Championships. And her goal is clear: “I hope to win a medal at the Worlds, no matter what colour. My goal will be to tickle, annoy Simone Biles! To beat her would be complicated, but I’ll do my best to be on the podium."
Elegant Eythora Thorsdottir (NED) celebrated her return to competition after a tough year struggling with injury by performing her way to the silver medal. Defending European Champion Angelina Melnikova ended her Europeans in third place.
With each 2 gold and silver and 1 bronze medal France was the most successfull nation very close of Russia ((2-1-2) on women's side.
