Nineteen year old Ana Maria STOILOVA, a 2016 World Championships finalist in the Mixed Pair category, was awarded the Maria Mineva trophy at the 7th Plovdiv Cup Aerobic Open 2016 in her native city of Plovdiv (BUL) last week. Stoilova, who won in the senior Individual Women’s category, became the second recipient of the trophy by scoring 20.300 points in qualification and 21.250 in the final for a total of 41.550.
This traditional international event, hosted by the City of Plovdiv and organised by the “Aerobics-AMD” sports club in cooperation and with the support of the Aerobic Union Bulgaria, was held in the Sports Hall of Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” and featured more than 250 participants from seven nations – Algeria, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Great Britain, Russia, Turkey and Bulgaria – in the 12-14, 15-17 and senior age groups.
The special prize set up in honour of Prof. Maria MINEVA (BUL), the former FIG Aerobic Gymnastics Technical Committee Vice President who passed away in 2014, is awarded to the athlete with the highest scores from both qualifying and final rounds at the annual Plovdiv Cup.
