1936, on August 01, 1936 the later two-time Olympian of Czech Republic (Rome 1960, Tokyo 1964), Pavel GAJDOS, was born in the Ukrainian village Velké Berezne and today he celebrates his 80th birthday in his hometown Prague.
At first beginning at the club "TVS Prague" (1955 - '59) and thereafter at "Dukla Prague" (- until 1969), the young Pavel has matured into a world-class gymnast, winning twice World Championship Bronze medals in Moscow (1958) and in his hometown Prague (1962) with the national Czechoslovakian team and in 1966 in Dortmund he participated again in the WCh team of the former CSR as the reserve gymnast at the age of 30 years ...

The 13-time national champion of his country, the Czech Pavel GAJDOS ranked 15th in the all-around competition at the IVth Europeans in Luxemburg assecond best Czech gymnast, behind his compatriot Jaroslav Stastny, on 6th place. in the IV. European Championships in Luxembourg.
