Former Olympian NG Shu Wai from Malaysia has only been coaching the national women’s artistic gymnastic team for three months, but he has already made a big impression on them. National Malaisian gymnast Tracie Ang has given Shu Wai the thumbs up, saying she believes that his coaching style will only toughen and strengthen the women gymnasts to reach greater heights this year.
The now 30-year-old Shu Wai, who won a silver in the vault event at the 2006 Asiad in Doha and another silver in the men’s floor exercise at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He quit the national team after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and now he has been assisting national coach Natalia Sinkova of Russia since last October.
