Lauren Mitchell's backflip for Rio Olympics

Australia's finest female gymnast, 2010 world floor champion Lauren MITCHELL, has shelved retirement plans to chase a third Olympic Games appearance next year in Rio. Mitchell (23) had planned to finish after 2014, only for her planned world championship finale to be scuttled by twin ankle injuries just two days before competition.
That not being the ideal note to end on, the West Australian resumed full training a month ago in preparation for next week's 2015 Australian Gymnastics Championships at Hisense Arena. She will compete on floor and beam, as she hopes to do in Rio.
Australia can automatically qualify a full women's team with a top eight finish at the world titles in Glasgow in October.
