Johanna Quaas was the Star of the 2014 Steuben Parade

Standing ovations and cheering in the stands accompanied the world's oldest active gymnast, the 88-year-old Johanna QUAAS from Germany on Saturday afternoon on the red carpet of the 57th STEUBEN PARADE 2014 by the Fifth Avenue of New York City.
In the hour-long Steuben procession, which is dedicated to the historic German-American cooperation annually since 1957, the agile inhabitant of the city of Halle (Middle Germany, near Leipzig), received the most and loudest applause for her parallel bar routine, she had celebrated total 5 times on a special float of the New York-Turners on the approximately two miles long distance, this time even with the rather difficult element for them, the "diver role", she had to leave earlier because of a shoulder injury last.
The "International Gymastics Training Camp", about 90 miles away from NYC, organized and sponsored this parade appearance and where they could prepare herselves before Johanna Quaas came with all and not so simple conditions cope on her mobile base and gave the numerous guests of honor and visitors an impressive teaching idea about the value of the unit gymnastics in the "Golden age" of a Senior!

Amazing how calm and physically unimpressed the "Gymnastics-Lady" was, put away everything and then for hours finished this race in Central Park with beer and bratwurst with a hearty "Oktoberfest".

After returning from the USA at the end of this week Johanna Quaas will take part already at a medical conference in her home town Halle (GER), to report about her USA tour and to answer a lot of questions questions, where she will report certain about that here certainly put no miraculous things behind, but that the results of a rigorous, athletic-active life is change.
