In the last national meet before qualifications begin for the 2015 Pan American Games next year in Toronto, Olympians Rosie MacLennan and Karen Cockburn resumed dominance in Canada, winning gold and silver on individual trampoline Sunday at the 2014 Canada Cup. The reigning Canadian and Olympic champion topped the field with a total of 159.505 points. The 33 years old Karen Cockburn, a three-time Olympic medal winner, scored 153.225 points to clinch the silver medal. She returned to national competition in May after taking a 14-month hiatus from the sport to start a family. Fellow national team member Samantha Sendel of Aurora, Ont. took the bronze with 152.780.

** In the men’s individual trampoline Japan’s Tetsuya Sotomura took the gold and 164.685 points, Keegan Soehn of Red Deer, Alta., secured Canada’s only spot on the podium with 159.925 points, good for the silver medal and Daniel Schmidt of Germany won bronze with 153.920.

** Double mini trampoline gold went to Denis Vachon of Burlington, Ont., who scored 147.900 points. Keegan Soehn picked up another silver with 145.400, and Dennis Oppenlander of Regina, Sask, earned bronze with 144.200. Tamara O’Brien of Coquitlam, B.C. won the women’s title.

** In tumbling, Canadian men’s champion Jon Schwaiger of Burlington, Ont. won the men’s title and Rachael Letsche of Great Britain took home the women’s gold.
