Ebee Price (USA) |
The energy bundle of Coopersburg (Pennsylvenia), Elizabeth "Ebee" PRICE, which had won in the fall of the Olympic year 2012 the two all-around World Cup events here in Stuttgart and later in Glasgow, today repeated her victory from last year at the DTB-Cup in the Porsche Arena Stuttgart with an impressive score of 58.032 points. The Olympic replacement gymnast from the U.S.team referred the fourth of the last worlds of Antwerp, Larisa IORDACHE from Romania (57.998), ranked second place. A further exploiting dividend in amazing shape former World Champion (2006, Aarhus), Vanessa FERRARI (ITA) - 6th at the last Worlds - was third with 56.866, only very slightly ahead of the Swiss Worlds Seventh, Giulia Steingruber (56.699).
According to the American Cup in March and the Tokyo Cup in April 2013, the DTB Cup this weekend is the third of four all-around World Cups in the calendar year, which will be completed 2013 in early December in Glasgow, next weekend.
Despite the good quality of the roster here in Stuttgart fails the World Gymnastics Federation FIG with this kind invitation mode to enforce its intention to always match the actual (or almost) eight - around best in such a series. Neither were there Olympic medalists, nor the three Worlds best of Antwerp there. Europe's top ten were represented by Vice-European champion Larisa Iordache and the ECh-fifth of Moscow, Giulia Steingruber (SUI).
Against the FIG intention simply speak objectively the complexity of the sport, the individual designs of yearly training plans, and in general the competition frequencies of the top gymnasts and not least the injury issue and the diverse individual priorities of top athletes. In modern gymnastics it seems to be:
Who is wise simply can turn out competitions
After American Cup (Worchester) and Tokyo now in Stuttgart entirely different name stood here on the podium - an additive ranking is therefore without any value. While this does not diminish the value of the show single event - but an attractive world ranking as in other TV-related disciplines, this is not yet!!
Elizabeth PRICE was technically very strong: In particular, the athletic and technically brilliant level of their acrobatics with which she formally celebrated the apparent "lightness of being" .
Similarly, the tireless Italian current vice-world champion Vanessa FERRARI in the world rankings for 7 years former world champion (all-around, floor) who do still outperformed the American on their top apparatus!
Also the international atmosphere was great in the Porsche Arena,: "Simply outstanding, this is already advertising for the modern gymnastics!" so Ronny ZIESMER, the parlysed former German champion said, who is now working as a co-commentator for the German TV ZDF, and also as a GYMmedia correspomdent.
