* fig-news --: Seventeen-year old Margarita Mamun of Russia prevailed over Melitina Staniouta (BLR) and Yana Kudryavtseva (RUS) to win the all-around title at the final Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup of the season in St. Petersburg (RUS) last weekend.
With her win over Staniouta, who shared the world ranking lead with Ganna Rizatdinova (UKR) before, Mamun also prevailed in the overall World Cup series with a total of 120 points, pushing Staniouta and Rizatdinova into shared second rank (110 points).
Mamun continued her success in the apparatus finals, where she garnered three out of four titles in St Petersburg, boasting the highest score in the Individual event on Clubs with 18.550 points.
With her win over Staniouta, who shared the world ranking lead with Ganna Rizatdinova (UKR) before, Mamun also prevailed in the overall World Cup series with a total of 120 points, pushing Staniouta and Rizatdinova into shared second rank (110 points).
Mamun continued her success in the apparatus finals, where she garnered three out of four titles in St Petersburg, boasting the highest score in the Individual event on Clubs with 18.550 points.
In the qualifying round in St Petersburg, the young Russian gymnast outclassed the field on Hoop (18.333) and Ball (18.000), while her compatriot Kudryavtseva scored highest on Clubs (18.466) and Ribbon (18.200).
Mamun continued her success in the apparatus finals, where she garnered three out of four titles in St Petersburg, boasting the highest score in the Individual event on Clubs with 18.550 points.
First-year senior Kudryavtseva outscored Mamun by a narrow margin to take the title on Ball (18.233).
South Korea’s Yeon Jae Son pocketed Silver on Hoop and Bronze on Ribbon, while Staniouta added two Bronze medals on Hoop and Clubs to her All-around Silver, and Kudryavtseva completed her medal set with Silver on Clubs and Ribbon.
Sylviya Miteva won a Bronze for Bulgaria on Ball (18.116).
The points from St Petersburg helped Mamun to climb the overall apparatus ranking, where she was awarded the 2013 series’ cups for Ball (135) and Ribbon (132.5).
Absent from St Petersburg, Rizatdinova kept the overall lead on Hoop and Clubs with 112.5 and 125 points, respectively.

Russia also prevailed in the overall 2013 Group rankings and were awarded the cups for the All-around, the 5 x 2 Clubs and the 3 Balls / 2 Ribbons series. They scored 125, 110 and 135 points respectively, relegating Bulgaria to second place in all three categories.
