* f i g --: First year senior Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia, the 2012 European Junior Champion on Ball, made a fantastic World Cup debut in Sofia (BUL) last weekend.
The Moscow native scored a 72.150 total in the All-around competition to defeat the home country’s Silviya Miteva (71.550) and team-mate Margarita Mamun (71.400).
Kudryavtseva also won the Gold on Hoop (18.250) and Clubs (18.300).
On Ball, 17 year old Mamun (18.150) narrowly outscored Miteva and Neta Rivkin (ISR), who tied in second place with a score of 18.100. She also won Silver on Ribbon (18.100).
26 year old London 2012 Olympian Sylvia Miteva medalled in each event at this competition in her hometown, adding another Silver on Hoop (17.950), a Bronze on Clubs (18.000) and winning the title on Ribbon (18.350).
With her third place on Hoop (17.800) and second place on Clubs (18.200), Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova has taken the World Ranking lead in these disciplines. In the All-around, on Ball and on Ribbon she is second to Melitina Staniouta of Belarus. In Sofia, Rizatdinova also tied in second place with Mamun on Ribbon.
Korea’s Yeon Jae Son shared third place with Rizatdinova on Hoop to win Bronze.
In the Group competition, host Bulgaria (34.900) prevailed over Russia (34.000) and Belarus (33.900) in the All-around and added the title on Clubs (17.700) and a Silver medal on 3 Balls/2 Ribbons (17.650).
The Group now leads the World Rankings in all disciplines.
On Clubs, Spain upped their seventh place in qualifications earning a Silver medal winning 17.300 in the finals and outscoring Belarus, who settled into third (16.700).
Russia came from sixth place in qualifications and took the title on 3 Balls/2 Ribbons with a 17.950 total.
Belarus added another Bronze in this Final, scoring 16.850.
