In two weeks, February 8 - 10, the traditional "Miss Valentine competition" takes place in Tartu, the second biggest city of Estonia to the 19th time, already - but to the very first time in its long history as a F.I.G World Cup event.
For nearly two decades this tournament in a row some of the best gymnasts come together every year on Valentine’s day to celebrate top gymnastics. Why just on Valentine’s day? The idea to organize such a competition came to world champion Janika Mölder in 1994 and the aim was to invite friends from different countries to participate.
As St. Valentine’s Day is a day of friendship and love this festival is for people who love gymnastics.
The festivity plays an important role in bringing warmth and grace to the crisp Estonian winter and is highly appreciated by the local audience.
Miss Valentine is known for its enjoyable ambience and cheering crowd.

The first World Cup event of the new Olympic cyclus:

The first FIG RG World Cup in 2013 with new rules brings to Estonia several renowned gymnasts.
However the list is not yet complete (Jan 21).
With nominative registration was confirmed the participation of Melitina Staniouta from Belarus and Alina Maksymenko from Ukraine.
From Kazakhstan will compete Anna Alyabyeva,
from Russia Elizaveta Nazarenkova and Svetlana Lanshakova.

FIG organized drawing of lots in their office in Switzerland for the starting order of Miss Valentine World Cup. The list on participants is now slightly changed. Unfortunately the participation of Alina Maksymenko and Anna Alyabyeva was cancelled.
Israel has added a participant Nataly Mendelson.
Sweden and Kazakhstan have changed the participants.

The 2013 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics includes one category A event (Sofia) and seven category B events. Apart from Tartu, Bucharest and Corbeil-Essonnes (Individuals only), all events include both, Individual and Group competitions, with All-around competitions serving as qualifications for the finals by apparatus.
With stopovers in Europe only, the competitions are slated for
February 8 – 10 in Tartu (EST),
April 3 – 6 in Lisbon (POR),
April 19 – 21 April in Bucharest (ROU),
April 26 – 28 in Pesaro (ITA),
May 4 – 5 in Sofia (BUL),
May 10 – 12 in Corbeil-Essonnes (FRA),

The world ranking points collected by the competitors at their best four World Cup events will add up to a total, and the top scorers in each discipline will be crowned winners of the overall series at the final event in St Petersburg.
