On Wednesday, 12 September in London, the 11-time German Senior Champion of artistic gymnastics, almost 87 years, Johanna QUAAS from Halle an der Saale, was added to the "GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS 2013 BOOK", the current world output will appear Thursday, Sep 13.

86 year-old Johanna Quaas from Germany is named the Oldest Gymnast.
Remarkably the retired PE teacher from Leipzig; Germany only began to train at gymnastics in her 50s taking part in her first competition at the age of 56.
Born on the 20th of November 1925, Johanna has always been involved in sport dating her interest in keeping fit back to a childhood. Because of her responsibilities as a mother and wife, she wasn't able to dedicate herself to gymnastics until later.
Joanna has a strict exercise regime that involves a combination of running and yoga. Johanna says "it is great feeling to be included and I hope the record inspires others to realise it's never too late."
