England Women Selection won Leverkusen-Cup to the first time
For the 37th times invited the German "Turn-Club 72 Leverkusen" to the "International Leverkusen Cup 2012" in the Smidt ARENA.
Despite the short-term cancellation of some countries five teams from four nations offered the approximately 1,000 spectators an exciting gymnastics competition!
At the Olympic disciplines "vaulting table, uneven bars, beam and floor" this year launched an international field with two selections from Germany, from England, the Netherlands and from South Africa in the Smidt ARENA.
At the end the national team of England took the lead. For half an eternity the British women take part already at this Leverkusen's top event and secured at last, and for the first time, the long-awaited trophy with 101.55 points.
Germany II (selection team 2) occupied the silver medal (96.20 points), just ahead of Germany I (selection team 1) (95.80 points) in third place.

Germany sent two teams to the race selection.
With Anja Rheinbay, Sarah Voss and Sarah Sunshine the German selection team I came completely from the top center of Cologne.

Annabelle Hölzer gewann Mehrkampf.

Training classmate Hannah Thives-Kurenbach completed the German selection team 2 with Annabelle Woods and Christina Kuhn from Frankfurt / Main.
Both German teams showed at this early point of season weaknesses at the first rotation on uneven bars, but they escalated from subdivision to subdivision.
In the all-around, and also on floor exercises, won Annabelle Hölzer, which only showed an error on uneven bars.
Anja Rheinbay had also suffered a mistake on uneven bars and floor exercise with her hand once on the mat, but still secured the second place in the all around before Jasmine Reed Yang from England, who ranked on third place.
Anja won as the beams and the jump decision.

Jasmine Reed Yang best of the Brits on third place

Anja Rheinbay, diesmal Beste an Sprung und Balken

The highly anticipated and strong team from Russia had, also like the Uzbek team, problems with the required visa and had to cancel shortly before the arrival before attending the Rhine traditional tournament.
Nevertheless, the Leverkusen organizers around
Dieter Schulz had a successful event again,
which was really exciting at the end again
