Event history in Portugal After the first World Cups in Portugal held in Almada (1997) and Tavira (1999) the Loulé Cup Trampoline competition had its first edition in 2005, organised by the APAG, and with the support of the Mayor of the city and the Portuguese Trampoline Federation.
It was in 2008 that the
1st FIG World Cup was organised parallel to the 3rd Loulé Cup. The competition was a big success in terms of nation representation (20) and results and it was followed by the
second edition in 2010.
Since 2006, the Gymnastics Federation of Portugal has increased its commitment to FIG World Cup/Series label events, with Portugal now standing among the national federations having organised at least one FIG World Cup/Series event in each discipline.
