The Swiss Gymnastics Federation (STV) informed, that the Swiss gymnasts Niki BOESCHENSTEIN and Roman GISI declared their retirements from active professional sport, their current contracts are from the gymnastics federation by mutual agreement not be renewed.
* Niki Böschenstein was a five time World Championship and seven-times European Champion participant. His greatest success was in 2005 in Debrecen rank 13 in all-around of this WCh and as finalsist of Europeans 2009 in Milan (8th on parallel bars) and 2010 in Birmingham (7th on still rings)

NIKI BOESCHENSTEIN made his current decision to withdraw after a number of health stress and injury issues - most recently with the Achilles tendon.
Speaking to the Swiss press the five-time Swiss champion said:
"I have to take the signals my body seriously.
The many injuries forced me to withdraw from professional sports and have an honest enough to even out my motivation."

At the last year's Worlds 2009 in London, he was also 13th in all-around.
Altogether five-times he participated in Swiss national teams of his country in major events.
In Birmingham 2010, at the Europeans Roman ranked on fifth place with his team from Switzerland.
