European Championships of artistic gymnastics started 56 years ago in Frankfurt / Main in the year of 1955.
After Leipzig 1961 (women) and the men's events of Essen (1979) and Bremen (2000) now the 33rd Men's and the 32nd Womens Europeans will held at the fifth time in Germany, but to the first time in the German capital.
Berlin is the city with the most international champions of gymnastics history, from GDR times on, up to now...
About 250 athletes, representing 39 nations, among of them 95 women (32 different countries) will fight for the all-around crown and the individual titles on the apparatus.
From April 06 to 10 the wellknown company  "SPIETH Gymnastic" (Esslingen, Germany) offers best apparatus conditions on the podium in the Max-Schmeling Hall, were also the last German Nationals took place as a dress rehersal for these Europeans.
