F.I.G. Training Course in Malaysia

Organised by the FIG and especially initiated by its President, Prof. Bruno Grandi, international and methodical training experts have elaborated development programs that are in particular suitable for countries that are at the beginning of their development in artistic gymnastics.

Authors of these training programs are Hardy Fink (CAN) for the competition program and Dieter Hofmann (GER/SUI) for the technical and athletics program.

The first course took place last week in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)….

Organised by the FIG and especially initiated by the President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Prof. Bruno Grandi, A development program (FIG Age Group Project) has been elaborated for gymnasts and trainers who have expressed a special interest in developing artistic gymnastics but are not very experienced in preparing a plan for this purpose

The goal of the project is to advice trainers and athletes in these countries how to organise a systematic development process, guided by proven control mechanisms. By applying systematically organised checks, it will be possible to register and evaluate the development curve.
A first course for Asia took place last week in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The group of around 40 trainers from 8 countries received their information from Hardy Fink, Dieter Hofmann and Joanne Richard (AUS).

Hofmann also lectured about a differentiated use of a modern training – and competition system, the elements of the long term performance preparation, the development of the prerequisites flexibility and power.

Joanne Richards spoke about a more effective use of the choreographic components on floor and balance beam

Next course:
Guatemala already in March, these development courses will be continued in Guatemala for the Central American an Carribean area and later for the Arabic Region, the gulf States and Africa.
