Jonathan Horten and Jordyn Wieber won 2011 American Cup

<< Jonathan Horton and Jordyn Wieber from USA won the 2011 AT&T American Cup all-around titles Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.
It was the prelude of a FIG World Cup circuit of altogether four all-around events this year.

Jonathan Horton won his third American Cup titel with a score of 90,198 points after a strong fight against the Ukrainian Mykola Kuksenkov (-0,166).
Third was Jake Dalton (USA) in absence of the Japanese world champion Kohei Uchimura. Germany's vice world champion Philipp Boy came on six place.

The victory of the young US gymnast Jordyn Wieber (59,899) was a big surprise, because she beat the current world champion from Russia, Aliya Mustafina, who made a mistake at the floor exercise and came on second only, with a difference of 0,068 points. Alexandra Raisman (USA ranked on third place.
As a junior Jordyn won the 2009 American Cup, already an cam in the last minut ino the roster of this world cup event!

On the women’s side, Mustafina started on vault with her Yurchenko 2.5 to score a 15.566. She moved to bars, where she did a stalder and in-bar elements and dismounted with a tucked 1.5 to score a 15.766, the highest women’s score of the competition.

On balance beam she dismounted with a flip flop, flip flop triple full and scored a 14.833.
On floor she mounted with a 3.5 (!) twist but unfortunately had a problem on her third tumbling pass and scored a 13.666, for a total all-around score of 59.831.
Mustafina said: “I was competing a new floor routine, and it is early in the seasonso I’m not so upset to finish second in the all-around.”
