* Vault
Top qualifier Hak Seon Yang of Korea, who only just missed out on a medal at the recent World Championships in Rotterdam last month, made amends for that disappointment by prevailing in the men’s Vault Final. The 18-year-old produced two vaults of high difficulty (7.00) which were both judged to have been flawlessly executed and were rewarded with the Gold medal. China’s Feng Zhe bettered his qualifying rank to take the Silver, outscoring Stanislav Valiyev of Kazakhstan, who dropped into third place, due to lower execution marks and a penalty on his first vault. Valiyev’s compatriot Yernar Yerimbetov confirmed his qualifying rank in fourth.

He outperformed second-placed Shun Kuwahara of Japan by five points. Having redeemed himself for his failed performance on the Parallel Bars, Teng Haibin stepped back on to the podium today. A repeat of the 15.450 that had qualified him in fifth place was enough to win him the Bronze. Second qualifier Soo Myun Kim (KOR) dropped to fourth position in the Final and was left empty-handed.
