The draw was conducted by the FIG Technical Committee Presidents for their respective disciplines, namely
Adrian Stoica (ROU) for Men’s Artistic,
Nellie Kim (BLR) for Women’s Artistic,
Maria Szyskowska (POL) for Rhythmic and
Horst Kunze (GER) for Trampoline Gymnastics.
A total of 150 Junior gymnasts will participate in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, for which the majority qualified via their respective Junior continental championships between November 2009 and May 2010.
In addition, one place in each category is reserved for the host country Singapore, and a defined number of National Olympic Committee (NOC) universality places are still to be granted.
* Rhythmic Gymnastics:

Individual gymnasts will compete in Rhythmic Gymnastics, 13 of whom qualified via their continental championships.
Four universality places will be allocated.
One single place was originally reserved for the host country, but since no gymnasts from Singapore participated in the continental qualifying event, which is mandatory for YOG participation, the unused quota slot was allocated to the next eligible NOC from the same continent, in this case Malaysia.
Hence, the 14 gymnasts have qualified as follows:
