Team Germany: expected success!
|
The German Wheel gymnastics team dominated the scene at the WORLD-TEAM CUP in the Sauerlandian Finnentrop (GER) - not too surprisingly:
Christoph Clausen (TSB Flensburg) with vault, Julia Pohling (SV Neuhof) in spiral gymnastics, Robert Maaser (KSC Strausberg) in straight gymnastics, Svenja Trepte (TSG Bergedorf) in spiral discipline, again Pohling with a straight choreography and Maaser at the end in the vault discipline each won their rounds and therewith collected the most points in series...

... such that the team of both national team supervisors Ines Meurer and Janin Oer to halfway through the 6 rounds had a relieving lead and the team was clearly steering towards the victory.
Equally clearly did Japan underline its aim for 2nd place with each round. It was only exciting to see who would be on 3rd position until the very end - between the Netherlands and Switzerland.
The Swiss, who had to attend without their superstar Cecile Meschberger, who was taking a "baby break", had to give in - with a 2 point disadvantage - to 4th place behind the Dutch.
The Finnentrop audience, that was thrilled about the
presentation of the world elites of wheel gymnastics, in the sold out threetime sportshall showed enthusiasm and applauded every team and showed themselves to be great hosts like the organisers of the
ESV Finnentrop .
**Final results: 1. Germany 28 points
2. Japan 18 points
3. Netherlands 14 points
4. Schweiz 12 points
