27th DTB-TROPHY, Women: The winners came from four different countries ...

Kim Bui: ... happy about victory!

The manageable start field of the women - not nearly as internationally high class in comparison to the mens competition, at the 27th DTB-Trophy 2009 saw four different winners from four different nations, in the almost sold out Porsche Arena in Stuttgart on the finals day.
One of the happy faces belonged to the German all-around champion Kim BUI, who won on the uneven bars, got second place on the floor and with third position bacame the most successful gymnast in these last world cups of the season.
The high class vault duel was between by the eldest competitor - the Czech Jana KOMRSKOVA against the Swiss Ariella KAESLIN was decided by Komrskova. The beam was conquered by Romanias young star Ana PORGRAS ahead of the German newcomer Maike ROLL and on the floor - a pleasure to see Elisabeth SEITZ from Mannheim, place herself as third behind the Chinese winner SUI Lu and Kim BUI.

At least emotionally, this was an encouraging season end for the German womens gymnastics, even if - like often after big events - a high class team of following world cups is a very difficult thing:
Of the world championship finalists London, there were "olny" three gymnasts here in Stuttgart (Sui, Kaeslin, Porgras).
Even if the uneven bars winning excersise by Kim Bui in London would not have been enough for the final - the athlete from Tübingen has become a leading German gymnast with a great amount of confidence, who has long not shown all she still has to offer and: at her side, the fresh and dynamic Elisabeth Seitz and Maike Roll - who managed to impress over the rennomated Russian Ksenia Semenova n the beam - young gymnasts are defining themselves, who will in the future be able to dictate the profile of German selected teams.

Hosts in front with 7 of 8 final positions!
A well performed German all-around champion Kim BUI not only lies at the top of the uneven bars series after the womens qualifications, but also ranks in second place after the Chinese SUI, Lu and ahead of Elisabeth Seitz (Mannheim) on the floor, who in turn lies right behind Bui as the second bestuneven bars gymnast.
On the whole the hosts can be happy about seven world cup finals placings in Stuttgarts Porsche Arena after the first day, because also dem Maike Roll managed this as 7th on the balance beam and therewith stands in a world cup final for the fist time, whilst Bui and Seitz are placed three times each amongst the best 8.
Best of the vault in the qualifications is is the experienced Czech Jana Komrskova and the Russian Ksenia Semenova marked the balance beam top score of the day ...

With the highest degree of difficulty of 5.6, but in the end with only 0,025 points advantage, could the Chinese SUI, Lu marginally assert herself ahead of the German champion Kim Bui on the floor. It looks like a repitiion of the duel in Cottbus, when in Spring, the Chinese could also only scarcely place herself ahead of the Swabian ... (Photo, right>)
