Training camp in the USA: Germany needs new gymnasts!

Anja BRINKER of Herkenrath will be the only member of the German gymnastics team from the last Olympics to participate in the national squad training camp in the USA, which is to take place in Piano, Texas from 2 - 10 February at the training centre of Olympic gold medal winner Anastasia Liukin.
Joeline MÖBIUS of TuS Chemnitz-Altenhof was the last to withdraw on account of back problems.
Oksana Chusovitina, who is still injured, is currently coaching the Uzbek national team in Bergisch Gladbach.
A good eight weeks before the European Championships in Milan, Marie-Sophie Hindermann of Tübingen is still absent due to injury. Daria Bijak (Cologne) and Katja Abel have retired from international competition.

A total of nine gymnasts will be taking part in this camp in the US under the guidance of national coach Ulla KOCH.
They are the two experienced gymnasts from Chemnitz, Susann Herbst and Jenny Brunner, along with six other promising talents from the Deutscher Turner-Bund:
- Elisabeth Seitz (Mannheim), Maike Roll and Desiré Baumert (both Karlsruhe), Nadine Jarosch (Detmold) as well as the two Stuttgart gymnasts Julia Hindermann and Pia Tolle.
The team of coaches for the German national squad are:
Gaby Frehse (Chemnitz), Oleg Chekmarev (Herkenrath), Michael Gruhl (Detmold), Tatjana Buchmayer (Karlsruhe) Robert Mai (Stuttgart) and Claudia Rodinger-Schunk (Mannheim).
