PREVIEW: 2nd Pre-Olympic Youth Cup 2009 ** GYMfamily Event

On the weekend of 22/23 May the Rheinischer Turnerbund (GER) will be continuing the tradition it began last year of holding a high-level international competition for female junior gymnasts.
Invitations are therefore now being issued to the "Second Pre-Olympic Youth Cup 2009" in Bergisch Gladbach.
The main competitions on 23 May are all-around contests for the 12/13 and 14/15 age groups and also for the Elite category. A remarkable feature is the unusually high amount of prize money for a junior competition! This competition is intended primarily to bring together elite and junior gymnasts (in three judging categories) and to help prepare them for the upcoming major events.
In particular, these are such competitions as the newly created Youth Olympic Games, which will take place for the first time in 2010 in Singapore, the next Junior European Championships in the same year and also continental events such as the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) etc.) ...

World star as patron
As at last year's premiere of this competition, world star Oksana Chusovitina has agreed to act as patron for the event.
