Aerobic Gymnastics Celebrates: PRESIDENTIAL OPENING!

Bulgarian power for Aerobic Gymnastics ...
Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia inaugurated a new sport hall reserved entirely for the practice of Aerobic Gymnastics.

Henceforth known as the "Vasil Levski" National Academy of Sports, the structure was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Georgi Parvanov, and the highest dignitaries in Bulgarian sport ....

Professor Maria MINEVA, lecturer and teacher in gymnastics and aerobics at the Gymnastics Department at the ‘V.Levski’ NSA, Sofia, and 2000, elected Vice-President of the Technical Committee of Sports Aerobics at the 73rd Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation, attending the inauguration, explained:
"The building reinforces the position Sport Aerobics holds throughout Bulgaria, where it enjoys a good deal of popularity. Sofia hosted the FIG World Championships of 2004 with flying colours."
Among other public figures present upon invitation were Professor Lachezar Dimitrov, Rector of the NSA and Milena Tarnichekova, aerobic assistant at the Academy.
The "Vasil Levski" centre will certainly be used for competitions, but it will also be made available for courses, training and symposiums, to name a few.
A side note, the very first FISU competition just might be showcased here in the near future.
