IGHoF: HONOREES FOR 2008 ANNOUNCED

On Saturday, February 9th, the "International Gymnastics Hall of Fame" (IGHoF) will hold their 12th annual selection ceremony in Oklahoma City.
Starting in 1988 with the fist inductee Olga Korbut, nearly 60 of the greatest gymnastics stars and contributors, representing 18 countries, have been formally inducted into the Hall of Fames’ elite group.
Most of them are come from the former URS and its following states (19), from Japan (11) and after the former star LI, Ning, this year the first Chinese woman will be introduced into the gallery of gym stars, but also the very first Bulgarian athlete ....


The 2008 "IGHoF"  Inductees will be:
- MA, Yanhong  (CHN),
- Stoyan DELTCHEV (BUL)
- Lilia PODKOPAYEVA (UKR)
- Shuji TSURUMI (JPN).

The International Order of Merit, presented from 2003 on annually by the International Gymnastics Hall  of Fame, is an award to reward individuals who have had an extraordinary impact on the sport of gymnastics:
